Another opening night at my favorite venue to play - the gorgeous Triple Door! The Love Markets and I had a ball kicking off another season of Seattle Cabaret Festival and playing with this wonderful lineup of acts.
Feb 2023: Workshopping Bilingual "Go, Dog. Go!" at Seattle Children's Theatre
What a joy to work again with playwright Allison Gregory, playwright-director Steven Dietz, and musical director Rob Witmer on “Go, Dog. Go!” at SCT - this time to workshop a new BILINGUAL version in English and Spanish (all mixed up together!) in collaboration with translator Ana Maria Campoy. In 2011 and 2017, I put in 200+ shows as Hattie the pink poodle; this time around I served as co-musical director with Rob as these awesome new dogs got down to business in two languages. I’m eager to see where this wonderful new version goes!

Dec 2022: 16th Annual Tom Waits Night with The Love Markets!
Dec 3, 2022 - Sold out and then some! This beloved annual celebration of the songs of Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan raised over $2000 for MusiCares. Happy 73rd birthday to Tom and big thanks to Diarmuid at Conor Byrne, event producer Ayako Okano, and all those irrepressible rain dogs in the crowd. Kudos to Dwight Beckmeyer making his Love Markets debut subbing for Rob Witmer on accordion, and Brian Mueller in for Dave Marriott on trombone!
Nov 2022: Love Markets play the Commodore's Ball (2 years later)
When Vashon Quartmaster’s Yacht Club booked The Love Markets for their Commodore’s Ball, the event was originally scheduled for March 2020… and you know how that went. Four reschedulings later, we finally got to pop the champagne this November 2022! Such fun - and definitely worth the wait.

Nov 2022: The Love Markets in "Burlesco Notturno: INSATIABLE"!
INSATIABLE says it all: after three years on pandemic ice, Burlesco Notturno is back, en fuego! It was wonderful being back on the Grand Hall stage at Open Space and so good to reunite with all our favorite Burlesco colleagues - Madame X and her Lawyer, the Atomic Bombshells (Kitten & Lou! Inga! Indigo Blue!), and all the folks whose efforts make this extravaganza happen… including the sold-out crowd. Congrats to trombonist Brian Mueller for a fabulous job subbing for Dave Marriott! What fun.

Oct 2022: Angie in "The Witching Hour" at Vashon Center for the Arts
I am ghoulishly glad to report that this Oct 30 spooktacular at VCA raised over 5K for Pacific Northwest Cabaret Association! Thanks to everyone who attended, in person or virtually. The carnivalesque John Engerman and enchanting butterfly Dave Pascal gave me such stylish support on my brew of witchy tunes including Donovan’s “Season of the Witch”, Nick Lowe’s beautiful ballad “The Beast In Me”, and the epic “My Barbie Was the Tramp of the Neighborhood” by Scott Warrender (from his brilliant revue TEXAS CHAINSAW MANICURIST, which he directed me in as a mere whippersnapper of a girl when I first landed in Seattle in the 1990s!). Kudos to all who made this event a success and the kind folks at the gorgeous Vashon Center for the Arts.

May 2022: Angie solo in Seattle Cabaret Festival
I always love my solo shows at Egan’s for Seattle Cabaret Festival and the chance to share an audience with a fellow act. In 2022, I got to do it with two glorious vocal trios - Blue Plate Special May 7 and, on May 21, Sirens of Swing! Thanks to my ever-trusty wizard of bass, Dave Pascal, for playing by my side to debut some new tunes, and to all those wonderful listeners in our audiences. We also had a blast playing a last-minute pairing with Carla Hilderbrand and Ted Lim of Siren + Sinewave - a true avant-garde cabaret duo. It was a swell festival. Here’s to next season!

Big thanks to the always-superhuman Nancy Guppy and her stellar show ArtZone for featuring a performance from The Love Markets yet again on her brand new episode April 15, 2022 (and plugging our April 22 show at The Triple Door!). I always love the chance to appear on this marvelously curated and produced show… I think this is my 7th episode! Nancy and ArtZone… Seattle treasures.

April 2022: The Love Markets return to sold-out Triple Door!
THANK YOU to all who came out and packed The Triple Door for The Love Markets on April 22! We were last here at the end of February 2020, our last gig as the pandemic was hitting - it felt wonderful to come full circle and play our songs on this great stage again. Thanks for joining us to celebrate opening night of Seattle Cabaret Festival 2022… and so much more!

Dec 2021: We're back onstage! Here's the video: Tom Waits Night 2021
On Dec 4, 2021, The Love Markets crossed the threshold and burst from our pandemic cocoon to close out the 15th Annual Tom Waits Tribute Night, and I’m so glad we did! What a thrill to be with an audience again. The event raised over $1200 for MusiCares. Here’s a few minutes of “Way Down In The Hole” / “Jesus Gonna Be Here” by Tom Waits. Many thanks to our pal Eric Ray Anderson for capturing this video on the fly!
Dec 2020: 14th Tom Waits Night (VIRTUAL): Watch The Love Markets perform "Cemetery Polka" and "Yesterday's Here" to benefit Conor Byrne
Nope, the COVID pandemic couldn’t stop 2020’s 14th Annual Tom Waits Tribute Night at Conor Byrne. The Love Markets have been doing this annual gig since 2012 and we were so happy to be able to participate in this virtual version. An amazing community of musicians stepped up to contribute video performances for the livestream show on 12/5/20 to benefit Conor Byrne, emceed and produced by the wonderful Ayako Okano. Here’s The Love Markets in Dave Pascal’s driveway, half-naked in our chilly November slips (just how Tom likes it), playing our arrangements of “Yesterday’s Here” and “Cemetery Polka”. Enjoy! We did.
Feb 2020: The Love Markets at The Triple Door Feb 28!
Tickets are on sale for The Love Markets at The Triple Door Friday, February 28! I’m excited to return to this super-cool venue where I’ve seen so many great shows (best sound in Seattle). Joining us in the lineup are Princess Guy and Sweet Spot Combo featuring Arnaldo!, as well as guest songs from a handful of brilliant vocalists… all for opening night of March Is Cabaret Month, Seattle’s premier cabaret festival now in its twelfth year. Throw down on one of those cushy booths and join us! It’s going to be a great night.

Feb 2020: "Snow White" opens at Seattle Children's Theatre Feb. 7 ... music by Angie!
I’m so excited to be composing the music for Seattle Children’s Theatre’s new production of “Snow White”. Opening Feb 7, this two-person show is a fascinating and radically transformed telling of the classic fairy tale (girl power! one guy playing seven dwarves and then some!). After last weekend’s supercharged recording session, we’re raring to go and I can’t wait to hear how it all comes together opening night. The show runs Feb 7 - March 15 at SCT; read more and buy tickets at www.sct.org.
Angie with Sandbox Radio Dec 30 at Town Hall: "Journey's End"
Always a pleasure to end the year singing, playing and bandleading for a new episode of Sandbox Radio at Town Hall. “Journey’s End” featured opera soloists Rob MacPherson and Megan Renae Parker; guest musicians John Guyer, Liam Lawe, and Evan Mosher; and a special guest appearance by Seattle Chief of Police Carmen Best. Hosted as always by Leslie Law and Richard Ziman. Photos: John Cornicello.
Angie plays 13th Annual Tom Waits Night Dec 7
It wouldn’t be December without Tom Waits Night! Hundreds of folks packed into warm and cozy Conor Byrne Pub on 12/7 to celebrate TW’s birthday and watch the always amazing lineup of music acts play all Tom, all night. This one was a special night as we celebrated not only Tom’s music but the music and life of our colleague, the wonderful musician Cooper Smith who passed away earlier in the month. Thanks to this beautiful community of artists and audience and to Conor Byrne for hosting this night for lucky 13 years. Here’s to more. (Photo: Dave Haskell)

The Love Markets and I were so happy to entertain again at this incredible annual event, this time in the VIP lounge with the monorail zooming festively beneath us. More pictures on the way!

The Love Markets in Burlesco Notturno: "Enchanted" November 2
Thanks to all the amazing Vashon Islanders who turned out for another stellar installment of Burlesco Notturno, hosted by Madame X and her Lawyer. Featuring performances by The Love Markets, The Atomic Bombshells, Kitten ‘n’ Lou, and acrobat extraordinaire Terry Crane of Acrobatic Conundrum, “Enchanted” brought the whole shebang, from captivatingly creepy to breathtaking to fall-down hilarious. Always a night of creative surprises, and always a blast!
"Belltown: Exposed!" celebrates the history of Rendezvous Oct 27
Seattle treasure The Rendezvous celebrated 92 years of history October 27 with a party for the release of new book “Belltown: Exposed!”, showcasing photography by Staci Bernstein and co-written by Scot Augustson and Bruce Rutledge. The immersive blowout bash featured performances in three different spaces inside Rendezvous, including music from Angie Louise, Ade, and K. Brian Neel in Jewelbox Theater, Jo Klein and the Savoy Night Owls in the Grotto, and a grunge happening in the old basement rehearsal space (presumed haunted). Costumes, cocktails and good times flowed freely in honor of the Rendezvous’ many decades, from 1920s speakeasy to 1950s Film Row to the ‘90s rock scene to the present ultra-versatile incarnation under owner Jane Kaplan. A toast to the Rendezvous!
June 24: Kicking off a new season at Town Hall with Sandbox Radio
It was a pleasure to compose and perform for Sandbox Radio’s first new episode of 2019 at just-reopened, fabulously renovated Town Hall! It’s always fun to lead the Sandbox Radio Orchestra, and this episode featured some great special guests, including NPR storytelling favorite Willie Wier. Thanks to all who came to the show! I’ll be back for another episode on December 30…
